A study day designed for HCAs who are working in a supportive role in primary care, offering care for patients with asthma. This day provides an overview of how asthma is diagnosed and managed and includes a practical inhaler delivery systems workshop.

A workshop designed specifically for healthcare professionals to meet the standards of the NHS Serious Incident Framework. The day will provide clinical leaders with practical skills to enable them to undertake a root cause analysis and develop an action plan in order to improve quality and safety in their clinical setting.

Power BI is a powerful data visualisation program that allows businesses to monitor data, analyse trends, and make decisions. This course is designed to provide a solid understanding of the reporting side of Power BI, the dashboards, where administrators, and end users can interact with dynamic visuals that communicates information. This course focuses entirely on the creation and design of visualisations in dashboards, including a range of chart types, engaging maps, and different types of tables. Designing dashboards with KPI's (key performance indicators), heatmaps, flowcharts, sparklines, and compare multiple variables with trendlines. This one-day programme focuses entirely on creating dashboards, by using the many visualisation tools available in Power BI. Owners Maintenance Courses are ran on the first Tuesday of every month (subject to availability) and are designed for those who want to gain a very basic understanding of grooming and maintaining their own dog between professional grooming appointments. You will need to bring along your own dog to work on for the day. The course will cover: Correct and safe grooming procedures prior to bathing Safe and pain-free matt removal using appropriate products, tools and equipment Correct and safe bathing and drying techniques Nail and ear care How to safely maintain your dog’s coat between their salon visits. Students will receive all course materials and it is recommended that students bring along a camera for before and after photographs as well as pens, high-lighters and notepads.

Our Induction Days ran on the first Wednesday of every month (subject to availability) and are a pre-requisite to all of our longer courses. The day is designed for those who want to gain a basic understanding of what our longer courses entail and/or are trying to establish if a career in dog grooming is for them. The cost of this day is deducted from one of the longer course of your choice. This half day course is designed for those people working or volunteering in groups or working on projects who would like some practical tips on making their marketing and publicity more effective.

This half day course is designed for new treasurers, general trustees and management committee members or staff who work in smaller organisations to understand the basics of how to manage the finances within a voluntary or community organisation. It covers all the essential issues ranging from drawing up a budget to ensuring that the organisation has sound financial procedures.

This course, which can be run as a half day (3.5 hours) or a whole day course, is designed to help those who chair or participate in meetings to understand how to run effective meetings that are constructive, concise and actually achieve something! The course can be adapted to cover meetings in general or focus on specific types of meetings such as trustee, director or committee meetings, staff or project meetings.

This half day course is designed for voluntary and community organisations and those involved in community development who need to write funding applications and want to ensure that their bids are clear, focussed and meet the funders’ criteria.
