Aims of the Course The module supports anyone who is not a physical activity specialist by supplying high quality and evidence based physical activity training that develops knowledge, skills and confidence to integrate relevant physical activity messages and interventions into everyday conversations. On completion you will have awareness of: The MECC approach and how this can be applied in your setting. What is meant by physical activity (including awareness of the latest Chief Medical Officer’s guidelines). How to deliver healthy lifestyle messages linked to physical activity, to encourage people to change their behaviour. Where suitable resources for signposting can be found. Who is the course aimed at? The course is aimed at anybody interested in looking to support physical activity conversations in the workplace or community. It is particularly useful for workplace health champions, and those who are responsible for workplace health and wellbeing strategies. No previous knowledge is required in order to obtain the content of this course. How long is the course? The course is delivered over a 2.5 hour online session. This course is intended to the most ambitious modellers in the property industry who would like to be fully proficient in building complex real estate models.

The LAA operates a strict compliance regime when it comes to auditing crime lower bills, and mistakes can often result in a Contract Notice, corrective action, and further follow-up activity within 6 months. This course will take you through the various aspects of crime lower billing, with discussions on topics such as what is and is not claimable; how you apply series of offences guidance; what evidence is required to claim a trial fee when a matter is discontinued; how do the LAA audit travel and other disbursement claims (including the rules when instructing an agent); and what evidence must be present on files to avoid any issues on audit. Key aspects of the Crime Contract, Criminal Bills Assessment Manual and Codes Guidance will be included, along with a discussion of common errors that are made; and how to claim non-standard and escape fee matters. Target Audience This online course is aimed at anyone involved in billing Legal Aid Police Station and Magistrates Court matters or managing an LAA Crime Contract. Resources Course notes will be provided to all delegates which may be useful for ongoing reference or cascade training. Please note a recording of the course will not be made available. Speaker Steve Keeling, Consultant, DG Legal Steve joined DG Legal after leaving the Legal Aid Agency in August 2016. In his 17 years at the LAA, he worked in the audit team as both auditor and manager and was a Contract Manager for several years. Steve is also a certified SQM auditor and undertakes audits on behalf of Recognising Excellence as well as running training sessions for the SQM Audit Team periodically.

Course Description: The 18th edition course is a 3 day short course aimed at anyone involved in the design, construction and inspection and testing of electrical systems, also a nationally recognised ‘must have’ qualification for companies seeking to recruit electricians. It is intended to introduce the candidate to a working knowledge of the Wiring Regulations along with a brief overview of the Electricity at Work Regulations covering their statutory duties. Previous knowledge of the regulations is not assumed, however, a fundamental knowledge of electrical principles is assumed. Please be aware that the Wiring Regulations course is not designed to teach you every regulation in the book but it will teach you the best practices on how the reference the latest regulations as you would on the job. As such key topics currently covered on the 17th Edition will still be included. We have been delivering Wiring Regulations courses for many years and although it is mainly theory based you cannot beat real training in a real classroom. Learners will develop knowledge from the FD&FA foundation courses (C01 modules 1 and 2) and/or industry experience with specific regard to more complex system design considerations.

The RQF examination allows learners to demonstrate knowledge of BS 5839-1: 2017 as part of competence in the design, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of FD&FA systems.

This is a gateway course for all further learning in FD&FA systems.
