social inclusion recovery group
S.I.R.G. is about advocacy, support, empowerment and training. Data supports the
fact that there is a lack of equity and equality in the support given to black
mental health patients and the issues surrounding engagement with clinical
services. In addition, we see the negative effects of inadequate support
opportunities available to parents who find it difficult to engage in a school
setting. Amongst other things, this can lead to underperformance, suspensions,
and exclusions. Both of these issues disproportionately affect black
communities.
