Paloma Forde  is a leading expert in the field of special educational needs & dyslexia with 27 years in the educational sectore!   Early Intervention and Early Detection are essential!  She founded Dyslexia Support Services in April 2016 and by January 2017, already received recognition by Dragon Den's Theo Pathitis by winning Small Business Sunday. (Only 1% of 370 000 make it!)   She then went on to get recognition about her work by Jacqueline Gold (CBE) in June the same year.  She provides screenings, specialised tuition, assessments, workshops, webinars for parents & professionals and Growth Mindset coaching for kids.   She has worked across all Key Stages of the National Curriculum and currently supports private students as well as support students with asd at her local university.

The Levels School is an independent specialist day school offering high quality education and exemplary pastoral care to students with dyslexia and co-occurring difficulties. Our teaching and learning provision would also meet the needs of individuals presenting with a similar learning profile to those with dyslexia and other Speech and Language Communication difficulties. Individuals with these differences often have difficulties with working memory and processing. In our experience these learners can often suffer with anxiety and have a low self concept so we are also able to support vulnerable learners that suffer with fatigue or who may have been out of school due to anxiety.

Fact Weak cognitive skills cause most learning struggles. Studies confirm that among U.K. children and adults, most learning and reading problems are due to one or more weak cognitive skills. Every person’s cognitive profile is different, and even children and adults with above-average IQs and cognitive abilities can struggle due to a single skill that is weaker than the rest. Fact Weak cognitive skills can be identified, targeted, and strengthened. Our Cognitive Skills Assessment identifies specific weak skills, then one-on-one training targets and trains those skills using fun, intense mental exercises are done with an ALP brain trainer. The result? Cognitive skills that are measurably stronger after training. Plus, changes happen quickly (most of our programs are from 12 weeks), which builds confidence and motivation.
