Taking minutes is a much under-rated skill. It can be challenging at the best of times. So how do you do it for virtual meetings? This trainer-led session will help. It's a very practical programme which explores the issues specific to minuting on-line meetings and gives solutions to some of the trickier problems. We have developed the non-licensed training to cover work for land remediation contractors working on asbestos-contaminated sites. Including: Interpretation of CAR Regulations to asbestos-contaminated land. This will include 'litter-picking' surface contamination and form contaminated soil. Site segregation, decontamination procedures and air monitoring expectations.

A hands-on introduction to various AAC devices for anyone with a personal or professional interest. This day introduces you to EATS and is a good foundation in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). You will learn different terminology used in the specialism; the difference between complexity of devices; key concepts related to implementing and making AAC work; how and when to refer to the specialist service and other essential knowledge needed to work in this area. The session is a good mix of theory and practical activities, and the day concludes with a generous interactive session for all to have a chance to have hands on experience with many devices and communication tools. The course is for anyone who wants information about AAC, whether you are a client, family member, paid carer, teacher, Speech & Language Therapist, other Allied Health Professional or anyone else who has an interest. Motivational Interviewing Advancing Practice 2-day In-person CPD training workshop Thursday 7th & Friday 8th November 2024 his 2-day workshop will be of interest to people in diverse settings and circumstances where conversations about change are an everyday reality. A wide range of learning methods are used to create an enjoyable atmosphere for learning and sharing ideas. These will include demonstration, video observation, brief content lectures, discussion, and focused practice. It is an introduction to Motivational Interviewing for some participants and a refresher for those people who have attended MI training previously.

P402 Surveying and sampling strategies for asbestos in buildings is the industry standard qualification for asbestos surveyors. In addition to holding the qualification, asbestos surveyors are required to undertake and provide evidence of annual refresher training. Previously, BOHS provided two Refresher courses for this purpose: P402RM (Management) and P402RRD (Refurbishment and Demolition). This new course, RP402 Refresher - Surveying and Sampling Strategies for Asbestos in Buildings, replaces P402RM and P402RRD. RP402 Refresher enables candidates to revise and update their knowledge on all types of asbestos surveys, and to receive a certificate of course completion by passing a written examination, which covers both the theory and practice of surveying for asbestos in buildings.

This course will explore what we mean when we say someone has dementia. The course will challenge you to think more about how we can best care for and support people with dementia.
