But there’s no reason why with some training, they can’t be made as safe as they possibly can be. Our Level 1 Award in Health and Safety within a Construction Environment (RQF) has been developed for learners working in – or wanting to work in – the construction industry, and will give them the knowledge to undertake their role safely. The qualification has also been designed so that learners who successfully complete it and go on to complete the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment test will have fulfilled the knowledge needed to apply for the CSCS Labourer’s Card. Topics include: * Knowledge of common hazards and risks in a construction environment * Safe manual handling practices * Working safely at height * Working safely around plant and machinery * The importance of effective teamwork and communication in ensuring safe working practices are followed in the construction industry. Certification Delegates who acheive the minimum pass mark (80%) will receive an accredited Level 1 Health and Safety in Construction via email. For instance, excessive noise can result in tinnitus and long-term hearing loss, whereas vibration can lead to musculoskeletal injuries and nerve damage. Fortunately, with diligent safeguarding measures, employees do not have to endure adverse health effects. In this course, you will learn more about the risks associated with noise and vibration, and how employers and employees alike can play a role in creating a safer workspace. Learning Outcomes * Why high levels of workplace noise are dangerous * The legislation that addresses workplace noise and what an employer must do to comply with these laws * The measures an employer must take to protect their workers’ hearing, including measuring noise levels, providing protective equipment and implementing health surveillance * The two categories of workplace vibration and their effects * What employers can do to protect their workers from injury caused by excessive vibration, and the health and safety legislation that sets out maximum acceptable vibration levels Certification Learners who complete the assessment test and pass (minimum 80%) will receive a Pathways Training Certificate, we recommend this be refreshed every 2 years!

This Abrasive Wheels Awareness training course raises awareness of the dangers associated with abrasive wheels and the practical steps that can be taken to minimise and control the risks that they present. Asbestos awareness training is ideally suited to anyone who may encounter asbestos containing materials during the course of their work.
