120 Clay courses

In this fun and focused session you will learn how to throw pots with a wheel each and have the opportunity to paint what you make for firing. Carole will demonstrate the process and teach you the technique. The session is suitable for all including children age 7+, couples, friends, families, and small groups.

Endfield Farm pottery is peaceful Artist owned studio, offering pottery and ceramic art classes on our farm in the Cheshire countryside. We have a range of pottery classes and ceramic art workshops, for beginners to experienced. We are close to the pretty village of Lymm and the market towns of Warrington, Knutsford and Altrincham. Only 14 miles from Manchester centre.

All ages welcome for 8 plus they can sculpt what they like for two hours or you can have a theme, the birthday child has a go on the wheel too. A small ball of air hardening clay each to take home in your party bags (clay tools are also available for party bags on request for an additional charge). . you are welcome to bring your own drinks and nibbles and have a wander around the animals too. Starting with a ball of clay we will show you how to make simple pinch pots that can then be turned into a bird to take home. Use them to simply decorate your home or turn them into cane toppers for your garden, or maybe a handmade gift for a loved one this Christmas, whatever you decide they’re sure to be a unique beautiful addition. All materials, tools and a firing of your piece included.

Detailing day for the experienced hyper-enthusiast. Our 201 Enthusiast detailing day was created for the hyper enthusiast who wants to correct and enhance their own vehicle, rather than just care for it. If you've attended our 101 Enthusiast, you're all covered skills-wise for the prior knowledge element, but for all others to benefit from this event you will need a solid knowledge of preparation work and wash procedure, as this is mostly focused on what comes after - namely paint correction. This is an intensive one-day group course, and there is time allotted at the end of the session to inspect your own vehicles if you need advice on particular issues. Our 201 Enthusiast detailing day was created for the hyper-enthusiast who wants to correct and enhance their own vehicle, rather than just care for it. If you've attended our 101 Enthusiast, you're all covered skills-wise for the prior knowledge element, but for all others to benefit from this event you will need a solid knowledge of preparation work and wash procedure, as this is mostly focused on what comes after - namely paint correction. During the day we will be covering: Compound types and chemistry. Paint types and how to approach them. Pre-work decon wash, including clay and clay pads, decon pros/cons. Masking and surface protection tips. Lighting and inspection technique. Machine work, including Dual Action and Forced Rotation polishers, to correct and enhance the paint surface. Deeper defect removal, scratch hand sanding. Coatings, including ceramic and polymer, and their application. The day concludes with a Q&A session with a walk around your vehicles to advise on any issues. This is quite an intense enthusiast detailing day, as we are trying to fit so much in, so we will be running from 9.30 am until 16:00 with a break for lunch. You will have hands-on experience all day and will be working your way through all steps of a full correction, it will then be up to you to build on the knowledge you have gained by practising on your own vehicle, with ongoing support if needed. The course is run from our fully equipped studio in the heart of Gloucestershire, with easy access to the M4/M5, and under an hour and a half to the M25. For a lovely set of hand and foot prints why not book in for an hour of squishing hands and toes in clay and making coloured hand prints in what ever shape you like. More than one child? then keep them entertained making a few things while they wait there turn. £35 per hour £10 any additional child.

Suitable for complete beginners Age 15 plus Join Lynne from Pots of Magic to create your own ceramic Greenman plaque . During this 3 hour workshop you will be guided through each section using basic hand building and sculpting techniques . During the first 90 minutes you will sculpt and form the face ,with the opportunity to create your own unique character . There will then be a teabreak before you add the foliage to your Greenman Foliage will be provided however if you wish to personalise your plaque using leaves from your own garden please do not hesitate to do so . (Please note leaves are rolled into the clay to leave an imprint then cut out .therefore leaves with veins give best results ) Once finished your clay creation will dry out slowly for 2 weeks before under going its first kiln firing . Once bisque fired it will then be professionally glazed by Lynne and enter the kiln again for its final firing . Your final piece will be ready for collection 4 to 5 weeks later from Ainsdale .
