Hi, I’m Nyree and I run Paint & Ink Studio from my home in Guildford. I left behind a job in PR & Publishing in London when I had my children and first picked up a paintbrush in my 40s. I soon discovered a creative side I never knew I had, and started experimenting with the skills I needed to revamp my vintage discoveries with paint. I now love teaching people how to transform all kinds of everyday pieces using simple furniture painting techniques.

Our tutors are experienced crafters who share their passion and expertise with you in our fun workshops. The workshops vary in length from a few hours to a whole day and include all materials and refreshments. You'll take home everything you create, along with a set of notes, so you can try out your new skills at home. We have now gone ‘mobile’ so the workshops take place in a variety of community halls in and around Woking. Our number one goal is to enable all children to have the chance to succeed in whatever they put their minds to. This could be in preparation for an exam or it could simply be to support them with their revision and giving them the tools they need to delve deeper and have greater understanding in any subject. How can we achieve this? We explain things in a way that children can understand We break things down We discuss and encourage questioning We encourage our students to make mistakes and we teach them that it is good to make mistakes. After all we all learn from them! We create an environment in which the student is comfortable and happy. We want all of our students to look forward to their lessons and have a deep desire to learn more. We work closely with parents to help them to support their children further with their learning. We take the time to really get to know each and everyone of our students. We tailor our lessons towards the needs of each individual child.

In February 2009, with the help of God and the sincere efforts of some dedicated individuals in the community, we managed to acquire our own premises – all 20,000 square feet over three floors with an excellent location situated in the heart of the West End of Glasgow. We have over 350 people; young and old, male and female, Muslim and non-Muslim who use our facilities on a regular weekly basis. We have established regular Friday prayers for both males and females in the English language. We have facilitated other community organisations to use and rent our premises.
