Welcome to Linda Simmons Textiles. I create beautifully bespoke knitwear and textiles for fashion and interiors. Luxurious accessories and fabrics. I am a textile designer, knit consultant and tutor. I make individual products and work to private commissions. Products are one-off items or limited edition collections in natural and luxurious yarns. I am City & Guilds certified in machine knitting, research and design plus studied in fashion design and manufacture at The Arts University, Bournemouth. I am also certified to teach, offering creative machine knitting courses for domestic Japanese and European Passap/Pfaff machines. My studio is located in beautiful countryside in Dorset, England, United Kingdom which is an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Jim Cronin, founder of Monkey World, passed away on 17 March 2007 at Cabrini Medical Center in Manhattan. Born and raised in Yonkers, New York, he was a resident of Great Britain for more than two decades where he and his wife Alison have operated their internationally renowned ape rescue centre. Monkey World works with governments around the world to halt the illegal smuggling of apes out of Africa and Asia. Jim and Alison built Monkey World from a small refuge to a 65 acre wildlife park that is home to more than 240 rescued primates of 17 different species, and it is rated as one of the most popular family destinations in England. In 2006 Jim and Alison were awarded the honour of Member of the British Empire (MBE) by Queen Elizabeth II for Services to Animal Welfare. The well-loved television series, Monkey Business and Monkey Life, have documented their frequent rescue missions, undercover investigations, and the soap opera that is the lives of the rescued monkeys and apes, for more than a decade.

We’re sorry that you have found the need to search for cancer support groups! Here in the Purbeck Workshop, we are a registered charity (no. 1161110) based in Wool, Dorset and we are dedicated to providing creative escapes to anyone whose life has been touched by cancer. Our relaxing and supportive workshop provides FREE activities and events throughout the year, where you can meet other people, carers and family members, who have all been affected by cancer. For us, it's not about you mastering new craft skills. It's about you taking some valuable time out, having fun and engaging with your creative self. We'll aim to take your mind off the worries and fears that cancer can bring, just for a couple of hours. If you have had a recent or previous diagnosis, if you have been bereaved through cancer or you are a family member or carer in need of a creative escape, you are all very welcome to attend our workshop. We are based a short walk from Wool Station, with off-street parking and disability accessible facilities including a lift for a wheelchair.

Continually learning from indigenous perspectives and traditions, I hope to introduce others to the wonders of ancient crafts and the absolute superiority of things made in this way. All workshops run in various comfortable locations around East Dorset You can be guarenteed a fun, informal & highly engaging day with instructors who are masters of their craft.
