SOLD OUT! 13th August Emily MacDonald #Agent121. Looking for: ADULT FICTION, NON-FICTION

5.0(3)

By I Am In Print

LOOKING FOR: ADULT FICTION, NON-FICTION Emily MacDonald joined 42 management and production company in 2019, working with Eugenie Furniss across her clients. She is now an agent in the Books Department, and is building her own list. Send Emily a story with characters that just won't leave her and a narrative that pulls her in, keeping her immersed in the world well after she has finished reading. She reads across a wide-range and has a particular interest in: book club, high-concept crime/thriller, upmarket and literary fiction. In fiction, Emily would love to find a crime/thriller set within a subcult: a modern retelling of British folklore (think Kamila Shamsie’s Home Fire); an unconventional love story; and a character led journey of self-discovery (especially one set within a diasporic community). Emily is also looking for narrative non-fiction which immerses the reader into an untold true story (personal or historical), exploring a new point of view, and providing a compelling social commentary, with an investigative twist. Think the obsessive vein of Kirk W. Johnson or personal/political dispatches of Aidan Hartley. Emily wants her horizons to expand while she reads. In both fiction and non-fiction, Emily loves stories woven into their surroundings, where the setting is as central a character as those who drive the narrative. In both spheres, she is keen to hear from Scottish and regional voices with stories to tell. Please note, Emily is not currently accepting submissions for Children's lit/YA and SFF. Emily would like you to submit a covering letter, 1 - 2 page synopsis and the first 5,000 words of your manuscript in a single word document. (In addition to the paid sessions, Emily is kindly offering one free session for low income/under-represented writers. Please email agent121@iaminprint.co.uk to apply, outlining your case for this option which is offered at the discretion of I Am In Print).  By booking you understand you need to conduct an internet connection test with I Am In Print prior to the event. You also agree to email your material in one document to reach I Am In Print by the stated submission deadline and note that I Am In Print take no responsibility for the advice received during your agent meeting. The submission deadline is: Wednesday 6th August 2025 at 12 noon UK BST

City Of Lisburn Salto Gymnastics Centre

city of lisburn salto gymnastics centre

Lisburn

Salto is a vibrant and active centre, over 2000 people use our facility every week through schools, parent and toddlers, classes and squads. We are proud to have over 1200 current British Gymnastics members and 50 members of Gymnastics Ireland regularly using our facilities. Through our range of programmes we offer gymnastics activity for everyone. We have created opportunities for our performance gymnasts to move into the Salto Gymfusion display team, sports acrobatics or undertake level 1 coaching awards. This ensures our gymnasts can make smooth transitions from one discipline to another at the same facility within the same gymnastics family. Our Elite WAG and MAG squads have the opportunity to be selected for Celtic Cup, Northern Europeans, Europeans, Worlds, Youth Olympics, UKSG and Commonwealth Games. We are the only gym club in Northern Ireland to be represented at all these events. We have an excellent relationship with our local City Council in Lisburn who provided the land for the facility and were instrumental in our bid to become an Olympic Training camp. Our Club won the Lisburn Sports Club of the year in 2011. In addition to our satellite clubs in the local primary schools, we have excellent links with many schools in NI with 25 schools regularly taking part in gymnastics classes at Salto throughout each week of the school year. In addition we work with local education providers (FE and HE) in the provision of training, coach mentoring, employment and work experience for their students.

Northern Ireland Commission For Catholic Education

northern ireland commission for catholic education

Antrim,

Welcome to this website of the Northern Ireland Commission for Catholic Education which will act as a hub of information for Catholic education within Northern Ireland. As well as providing links to the schools within the Catholic Managed Sector in N.I. it will also link to other education partners. In addition, it will provide those interested in Catholic education with resources, guidance and policies to assist them in their work. It will also be a place of celebration for Catholic education and include examples of the Catholic ethos alive in our schools. Across Northern Ireland there are 489 Catholic schools serving the needs of 45.5% of the school population. Our schools, working with the parents as the primary educators of their children, strive to ensure that children and young people discover their uniqueness as individuals and develop their gifts and talents as full members of a faith community. Northern Ireland has experienced conflict. But our schools are not some sort of quaint relic from a divided past. They have shown themselves to be active contributors to reconciliation and the Common Good. Our schools are open and welcoming to children and young people of all nationalities and of all faiths and to those who have no religious affiliation. Within our schools we promote a belief that difference is to be understood and celebrated as a source of enrichment. This mission is undertaken by Governors, school leaders and staff who are dedicated and committed to supporting the children and young people in their care and the communities in which they are located.

Irish Baptist College

irish baptist college

Northern Ireland

If you are convinced of the necessity for theological training, why do it at the Irish Baptist College? Students of the College benefit from a long and illustrious history. The Irish Baptist College was established in Dublin in 1892 by Hugh D. Brown who had close connections with Charles H. Spurgeon, the renowned Baptist preacher in London at that time. In 1964 the College moved to Belfast before relocating to Moira in 2003. Courses provided by the College have been accredited since the 1970s. Graduates of the College are currently located across the globe in a variety of ministry scenarios. In addition to its history, students will also benefit from its location. The College is located in Moira which offers a semi-rural, secluded, quiet and peaceful setting in which to study. It is however just a couple of minutes away from the motorway and is therefore easily accessible from all parts of the island. The building is modern with excellent facilities, including accommodation, numerous classrooms, and a library hosting more than 13,000 volumes. Of course, students do not study alone and the sense of community is a prominent feature of College life. As a comparatively smaller student body there is opportunity to develop lasting friendships with fellow students. This sense of community is further fostered by regular devotional and prayer times as an integral part of the weekly schedule. All of these benefits are supplemented by the faculty, comprised of tutors who are both academically qualified and have extensive experience of ministry in a variety of contexts. This provides a teaching environment that is both academically rigorous and vocationally focused. In summary: the College stands on a long and illustrious history, is based in an idyllic setting for study, offers a compelling community, and boasts an excellent faculty. For these reasons you should consider completing theological training at the Irish Baptist College.
