About Continuing Education at University of Liverpool
Continuing Education at the University of Liverpool has been offering course to the local community in city and wider region for over 100 years. Based in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, it offers an exciting and diverse range of courses, lectures and events both on and off campus. Drawing on the experience and expertise of the University’s academic community its purpose is to build a stimulating and enjoyable learning environment for all – whether you are studying for credit or for the sheer pleasure of learning. The history of the University dates back to 1882, when University College opened its doors to 45 students. The Victoria Building, which gave rise to the term 'red brick university', opened in 1892 and since its establishment a key institutional priority has been to work with and for its local community.
