Ed holds a B.Eng (Elec) from UCC and M.Eng.SC from the Tyndall Institute, Cork. Ed joined ESB Networks in 2003 and worked in a number of roles, principally in the original roll out of the Outage Management System (OMS). Ed moved to Eirgrid in 2009 to work with the Power Systems Applications team where he was SCADA Team Lead and worked on integration of many new technologies into the transmission control room. Ed rejoined ESB Networks in 2022 to work in NN,LC as the Operational Control Architecture manager. Ed is currently working in the newly formed Business and Operations Hub within the DMSO.

Thorsten was the CEO & Co-Founder of Greenbird Integration Technology providing the leading Enterprise iPaaS and Data Mesh Platform driving the Energy Transition. Acquired by GE Vernova in August 2023. Software Utility Executive with long term experience in datafy’ing utilities to build a more sustainable grid.
