If you’re looking for a career in education and training, then the Level 3 Award in Education and Training (L3 AET) is the best choice. It is considered an industry-standard entry qualification for those looking to teach or train. It was formerly the Level 3 Award in Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector (PTLLS). Most training centres would expect that you have a Level 3 Award in Education and Training before you start teaching in the FE and HE sectors. Duration and Delivery

Assessment and Verification

Entry Requirement

You should be aged 19 or over to undertake the qualification

Practical Requirement

You must be involved in at least one hour of microteaching. In addition, you must deliver at least one 15-minute microteaching session observed and assessed. For the other 45 minutes, you can either have additional microteaching sessions or observe the microteaching sessions of fellow participants. If you are currently teaching, you may prefer to use your practice instead of microteaching to meet the practical requirements.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed via three written assignments and the planning and delivery of a microteaching session. The micro-teach can be on any topic.
