Parenting a Child with Complex Disabilities – A Workshop for Parent Carers

Parenting a child with disabilities is a journey like no other. It can be filled with extraordinary highs, deep lows, and everything in between. It can feel like navigating a whole other world, where emotions run deep and the path is often unclear.
This two-part workshop is designed specifically for parents and caregivers of children with additional needs. Grounded in lived experience and supported by research, it offers a safe, engaging space to explore the realities of parenting a child with complex disabilities.
Together, we’ll reflect, connect, and learn practical strategies for navigating the good, bad and downright ugly of this unique parenting experience.

Rachel is a qualified nurse and parent to a complex bunhc of kids including a son with complex disabilities and two who are neurodivergent.
She’s an author (The Skies I’m Under), award-winning blogger, speaker, trainer, and founder of Born at the Right Time.
Rachel brings warmth, humour, and deep insight to her work, bridging the gap between families and professionals. She’s passionate about community, co-production, and embracing life’s challenges—while balancing her love of salt ‘n vinegar crisps with regular runs and dodging her son’s book-in-progress, My Mum’s Epic Fails.
