About Bedfordshire Association of Church Bell Ringers
The Association includes over 90 towers and we have about 300 members. We are a registered Charity, 263781 We have three Districts – Bedford in the north, Biggleswade in the east and Luton in the south Our patrons are The Lord Bishop of St. Albans, the Right Reverend Dr. Alan Smith, and The Bishop of Bedford, the Right Reverend Richard Atkinson The Bedfordshire Association of Church Bell Ringers was established on 13th March 1882. Our patrons are the Right Reverend Dr Alan Smith, Lord Bishop of St Albans and Right Reverend Richard Atkinson, Bishop of Bedford. Our Association is organised into three Districts, Bedford, Biggleswade and Luton, and covers the geographical county of Bedfordshire and the parish of Eaton Socon in Cambridgeshire. There are 83 churches with ringable bells in Bedfordshire and we have about 400 members. Our Objects are to: promote ringing for divine service cultivate change ringing preserve proper belfry conduct encourage of ringers to take part in the worshipping life of the church promote and support the care, maintenance, improvement and restoration of bells within the area of the Association The Association is a registered Charity, number 263781, see http://apps.BACBR Charity No. 263781 for more details.
