Education at Basil Paterson Founded in 1929, the historic Basil Paterson College stands proudly at 66 Queen Street in the heart of Edinburgh’s New Town. Known as a respected educational institution throughout all of Scotland and beyond. During our history, we have served pupils from the local community as well as those who travel to us from Europe and beyond. The College includes the Middle School for National 4’s and 5’s, the Tutorial College for Highers and Advanced Highers, the Edinburgh School of English for English language courses, the Test/Exam Centre for those who need to sit the IELTS test or Cambridge Assessment English examinations and the Teacher Training Faculty for the training of CELTA teachers.
