The Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work course equips learners with the essential knowledge and practical skills required to respond confidently to workplace medical emergencies. It is suitable for staff working in schools, academies, offices, retail, community settings and other low‑risk environments, where an organisation’s first aid needs assessment identifies the requirement for Emergency First Aiders.
This qualification meets the requirements of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations and provides learners with the competence to act quickly, safely and effectively when an incident occurs. Training is practical, engaging and delivered by experienced instructors who understand workplace risk, compliance and duty of care.
Course content includes:
Roles and responsibilities of the Emergency First Aider
Assessing an incident and managing the scene safely
Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
Adult CPR and choking procedures
Shock, epilepsy and burns
Bleeding control and minor injuries
Accident reporting and record keeping
The course is Ofqual regulated and assessed through a combination of practical demonstration and written assessment. Successful learners achieve a Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work, valid for three years.
Training is available through open courses with published dates or as bespoke, in‑house delivery, allowing organisations to train teams together and minimise time away from the workplace.
