Description

The Level 2 Award in Fire Safety is a nationally recognised qualification designed for individuals who have specific responsibility for fire safety in the workplace, such as Fire Wardens or Fire Marshals. It is suitable for education settings, businesses and the wider public, and provides learners with the knowledge and confidence to fulfil designated fire safety duties effectively.

This course builds on basic fire safety awareness and provides a more in‑depth understanding of fire hazards, fire risk assessment and fire prevention and control measures. Learners develop a clear understanding of how fires start and spread, the risks posed by fire and smoke, and the actions required both day‑to‑day and during an emergency. The qualification also supports organisations in meeting their duties under fire safety legislation and promoting a safe working environment.

Course content includes:

The qualification is Ofqual regulated and awarded by First Aid Awards (FAA). It is typically delivered over approximately six guided learning hours, usually as a one‑day course, and is assessed through a written assessment. Successful learners achieve a Level 2 Award in Fire Safety, with refresher training recommended to maintain competence and confidence.
