In this day when more of us are thinking about the impact on the environment, using reclaimed fabric has it benefits. It can bring new life to fabrics that would otherwise find it's way into landfill.
This fun workshop uses shirts to create a range of sewn items As well as developing our sewing skills, we will be combining patchwork and quilting to create a selection of the following items:
apron, cushion cover, coin purses, zipped pouches, pot holders and more
We will also cover good sources of recycled fabrics and ideas for using them.
This class is suitable for all abilities
Materials will be provided, but if you have a special shirt you would like to use, please bring it along.
This is an in person class.
Materials are provided for this class.
If you want to bring your own sewing kit (scissors, rotary cutter etc,) and/or sewing machine, you are more than welcome to do so. However, there are machines available to use. If you want to get to know your own machine, then please do bring it along
Tea, coffee, squash and some snacks will be available. You may wish to bring your own cup. If you need to bring lunch, then please bring a packed lunch. There is a small fridge in the studio.
There are some shops around the corner if you wish to purchase food on the day.
