This is a series of classes run over six weeks. During that time we will introduce you to the sewing machine, threading, winding the bobbin, different stitches etc before going on to make a number of projects to build your sewing skills
Projects include:
A simple bag- sewing straight seams, French seams, top stitching
A cushion cover-envelope style, working with wadding, top stitching, faux piping
A zippered pouch-sewing in a zip, lining, turning through, closing turning hole
A hanging pouch-working with interfacing, buttonholes, sewing on the bias, turning through, top stitching
We will conclude with some basic sewing machine maintenance and troubleshooting problems to include cleaning the machine

2 hours a week for 6 weeks
This is an in person class.
Materials are provided for this class.
Tea, coffee, squash and some snacks will be available. You may wish to bring your own cup. If you need to bring lunch, then please bring a packed lunch. There is a small fridge in the studio.
There are some shops around the corner if you wish to purchase food on the day.
If you want to bring your own sewing kit (scissors, rotary cutter etc,) and/or sewing machine, you are more than welcome to do so. However, there are machines available to use. If you want to get to know your own machine, then please do bring it along
