Join us for traditional Hatha yoga combined with moving meditative flows, pranayama/breathwork and relaxation.
Classes are suitable of all abilities.
Please bring a mat and a blanket, if you have them, see you soon, Jan
You'll find us at The Nest in Eccleston, it's situated on Walmsley Road in Eccleston - the end of the row, opposite Whistles Tea Room.
We'll start the class lying down, taking a few moments to connect to the breath, using some simple pranayama or breathwork to prepare ourselves for practice.
We'll explore a variety of asana/poses, in a supine, seated, kneeling and standing position, moving the spine in all directions, flexion, extension, lateral bend and twist and almost always add a balance.
At the end of the class we make our way back down to the mat, usually in a supine position for relaxation, tense and release, guided visualisation, yoga nidra...
Wear comfortable clothing, bearing in mind the temperature on the day - in summer wear lighter clothes, in winter I recommend wearing layers.
Socks can be worn or bare foot, it's entirely personal choice. If you are wearing socks and you are coming frequently it may be worth investing in some 'sticky' or toe socks, these socks have grip on the soles.
Bring yourself, a blanket and any yoga equipment you have, a mat/block/brick, and please don't worry if you don't have any equipment, The Nest have lots of spares.
Although there are tremendous benefits to overall health and wellbeing, yoga can be physically challenging and carries with it risks that cannot entirely be eliminated. These include the risk of personal injury, or the exacerbation of existing injuries or conditions.
Please let your teacher know of any medical issues or if you are pregnant before the session.
Never continue with a class or a movement that is too difficult for your level of experience or ability, or if you feel any discomfort.
Listen to your body. Follow any safety instructions or suitable modifications or adjustments to the exercise as instructed.
Your participation in this yoga class is entirely at your own risk.
