PADI AWARE® Specialist (Newly Revised)

Uniting scuba divers and water enthusiasts to make a difference. By earning this certification, you'll be aware of the most pressing problems facing aquatic environments and how to protect them. PADI AWARE’s philosophy is to mobilize a global force of scuba divers and water enthusiasts who care about protecting the world’s water resources and choose to make a difference – one dive at a time. By earning the PADI AWARE Specialist certification, you’ll be aware of the most pressing problems facing vulnerable aquatic environments and know what everyday actions you can take to help protect them. Anyone who has an interest in the aquatic world should take this course. There are no prerequisites, age restrictions or water sessions required for this non-diving specialty. Through virtual classroom discussions, you learn:
- How PADI AWARE unites scuba divers and water enthusiasts to make a difference.
- About environmental issues in the ocean commons and coastal zones.
- About fisheries challenges and sustainability problems. -
- What’s happening to coral reefs and reef inhabitants.
- Your role in protecting aquatic environments.
The course comes with an online PADI E-Learning resource, that stays with you. When ever it is updated you have access to this without buying new manuals.
At the end of this course, you receiver a PADI E-Pic certificate (Download on PADI App). If you are a qualified PADI diver, then this course can count to your Master Scuba Diving Rating.
Coral Reef Conservation
This course helps you appreciate the complexity of coral reef habitats and teaches how you can help conserve these vital systems.
Everyone likes to scuba dive or snorkel in warm, clear water on a vibrant coral reef, yet many people know little about what they’re seeing or the importance of reef ecosystems. The Coral Reef Conservation Specialty course helps you appreciate the complexity of these habitats and teaches you how you can help conserve these vital systems. Anyone who has an interest in the aquatic world can take this course. There are no prerequisites or age restrictions, and no water sessions are required to earn this non-diving certification.
Through online classroom discussions, you learn:
- How coral reefs function and the complex nature of life on a reef.
- Why coral reefs are so important.
- Why many coral reefs are in serious trouble.
- What you can do to prevent further decline.
- How Project AWARE unites divers and water enthusiasts to make a difference.
QUALIFICATION
At the end of this course, you receiver an electronic PDF certificate to recognize your attendance for the Coral Reef Course, and a PADI E-PIC card for the PADI Aware Specialist course. If you are a qualified PADI diver then these courses can count to your Master Scuba Diving Rating. You can choose to upgrade your certificate for Coral Reef Conservation also to a PADI E-PIC Certification Card (This will be a E-Card you will need the PADI app to display this). The upgrade fee currently is £80. You can decide to upgrade up to 7 days after the course completion.

At additional cost:
Course Hand out and Workbook, and a printed-on card certificate of attendance - These are posted out second class to UK addresses and posted out 14 days before the course.
Important Information: This course is held through video conference (via Skype) and will be delivered in English only. It's the participants responsibility to ensure that you have good internet access, and capable of running Skype preferably from a pc. Webcams are optional but audio is a requirement. An email with a link will be sent before the course commencement. Please ensure your email address give is correct. You don't have to have Skype installed you can join by the web client.
International Attendance. We are happy to extend this course outside of the UK. We regret for the moment Workbooks and certificates cannot be posted out to places outside of the UK. You will still receive an email PDF certificate and all required materials can be viewed under the resources on our website.
Refund Policy: A full refund is not possible if cancelled less than 14 days in advance of the course. You may however reschedule your course to be a date with in 90 days of the original course booking.

We are very flexible, and happy to run course at weekends or over a few weekday evenings. Prior arrangement should be made.
At the moment, this would need to be by prior arrangement and for multiple students. Contact us to discuss your requirements
We post out your materials 2 weeks before the course, this should give you 7 - 10 days before the course date.
We will refund you fully 14 days in advance of the course start date (If you have not started any elearning).
After 14 days, then you can postpone the course up to 90 days after the original course date, but you need to give us at least 24 hours in advance. Refunds can not be given with in 14 days of the course.
