About this event

The course is fully compliant with existing HSE regulations for a First Aid at work Trained person to renew their certification. It follows the latest ILCOR standards and is backed by the training agency Emergency First Response. At the end of of it you will obtain a certificate valid for 3 years.

For people who are out of current certification or wish to do the initial course then 3-day courses are also available.

In the 2-day refresh course you will refresh the following Primary Care Skills

Scene Assessment – Barrier Use – Primary Assessment – CPR – Rescue Breathing Serious Bleeding - Shock Management – Spinal Injuries – Choking - Use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) on adults – Oxygen Orientation.

In Addition to these skills, you will also be refreshed on the following Secondary Care skills (First Aid)

Injury Assessment – Illness Assessment – Bandaging - Splinting.

Further to the above skills you will also refresh on

HSE Legislation - Temperature Related Injuries - Eye Injuries - Dental Injuries - Poisoning - Electrical Injuries - Strains and Sprains - Minor cuts and Bruising.

NOTES FOR STUDENTS

You should only take this course if you have an in-date certificate (Proof of this will be required at course commencement). The course runs over 2 days starting at 9:30am and ending at 4:30pm On the Saturday and then the next day the same times. There will be knowledge reviews to complete as homework on the Saturday night, and an Exam and assessments carried out on the last day.

Can I split courses over a few evenings

We are very flexible, and happy to run course at weekends or over a few weekday evenings. Prior arrangement should be made.

Do you run courses during weekdays

At the moment, this would need to be by prior arrangement and for multiple students. Contact us to discuss your requirements

When can I expect my learning materials

We post out your materials 2 weeks before the course, this should give you 7 - 10 days before the course date.

Can I get a refund

We will refund you fully 14 days in advance of the course start date (If you have not started any elearning).

After 14 days, then you can postpone the course up to 90 days after the original course date, but you need to give us at least 24 hours in advance. Refunds can not be given with in 14 days of the course.
