Where an organisation’s risk assessment of First Aid needs identifies that there is a requirement for Emergency First Aid at Work practitioners, then this national Award in Emergency First Aid at Work satisfies the requirements of the regulatory body for First Aid – the Health and Safety Executive (HSE).
All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.
This training takes place at our Birmingham Training Centre on the Hagley Road in Edgbaston.
Syllabus
A range of subjects are covered including:
Responsibilities and reporting
Assessment of the situation
Dealing with an unresponsive casualty
Basic hygiene in First Aid
Burns
Epilepsy
Resuscitation
Anatomy
Minor injuries
Bleeding control
Choking
Shock
Course Assessment
Assessment method:
Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor each day, along with a written assessment on each day. A three year Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment.
Course Duration
Normally 1 day, minimum of 6 hours contact training time (excluding lunch and breaks).
Certification / Revalidation
On successful completion of the course, attendees will be issued with the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work RQF qualification valid for 3 years. In addition, the HSE strongly recommend that all students undergo an annual refresher programme of three hours
This Level 3 Emergency First Aid at Work is Accredited by Nuco and First Aid Awards.
Course Fee Includes:
Refreshments, Car Parking Fees, Workbooks and Resources and Certification.

* Your safety is important to us and We aim to provide as much notice as possible if a Training Session has to be cancelled by email however due to the current situation with COVID19 training sessions could be cancelled at short notice (on the day) if the allocated trainer has symptoms of coronavirus, has been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for coronavirus or the trainer receives a positive test result for coronavirus.
We will endeavour to arrange for another trainer to deliver the following course however in the event we cannot arrange another trainer to deliver the training session we will reschedule your course to another date available and we apologise in advance if this happens. You will receive an email with full details as soon as possible and therefore please do check your inbox and junk/spam folders. The on-site staff at the CIBA building will be informed and a notice will be available on our centre door.
