SPA Health & Safety Core Day – ECS Labourer Card

The SPA Health & Safety Core Day is a nationally recognised one-day Health & Safety course designed for individuals working in construction, engineering, manufacturing and the electrotechnical industry. It is particularly popular with candidates applying for an ECS Labourer Card, providing an approved Health & Safety qualification that supports the ECS application process.)

Delivered live online using Microsoft Teams, the course allows candidates from anywhere in the UK to complete their training without travelling to a classroom. Throughout the day you’ll work alongside an experienced instructor, giving you the opportunity to ask questions, take part in discussions and benefit from practical examples taken from real construction and electrical environments.

The course covers the key principles of workplace Health & Safety, including legal responsibilities, hazard identification, risk assessment, manual handling, working at height, personal protective equipment, environmental awareness, safe systems of work and accident prevention. The emphasis is on developing practical knowledge that can be applied immediately when working on-site.

Following enrolment, you’ll normally receive your joining instructions within 48 hours, together with your course material and Microsoft Teams joining link.

The course is delivered over one day, typically starting at 08:30 and finishing at approximately 15:30–16:00, with regular breaks throughout the day. All you’ll need is a computer or laptop with a camera, microphone and a reliable internet connection.

At the end of the course you’ll complete a short online assessment.
