Who is it for?:
The qualification is aimed at learners already working or preparing to work in industry that is identified within the company's risk assessment of First Aid. The qualification has a recommended course duration of 3 days; however the course duration may be increased to meet additional learning needs if required but not reduced.
Pre-requisites:
Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
Course Content Includes:
The roles and responsibilities of the first aider.
Assessing an incident.
Recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness.
assisting a casualty who is suffering from minor and major injury and illness.
Chest injuries.
Spinal Injuries.
Anaphylaxis.
This course also includes AED machine training.
The qualification is divided into two parts, day one covers the Level 3 Emergency First Aid in the Workplace and day 2 and 3 covers the Level 3 Recognition and Management of Illness and Injury in the Workplace.
Assessment of this qualification is by ongoing assessment and oral questioning.
Qualification:
HABC First aid at work (FAW) certificate, valid for 3 years.
