Who is it for?:
The qualification is aimed at learners already working or preparing to work somewhere where they have a responsibility for the welfare of children or infants. It is ideal for pre-school or nursery staff, toddler group volunteers and childminders. It is also suitable for parents, relatives and foster carers.
Pre-requisites:
Candidates must be physically able to carry out the procedures detailed in the course outline and must attend all sessions to be eligible for assessment.
Course Content Includes:
The roles and responsibilities of a paediatric first aider.
Assessing an emergency situation safely.
CPR and AED training
Administering first aid to a choking infant or child
Putting a casualty in the recovery position
Dealing with shock, bleeds, bites, stings and minor injuries
Qualification:
HABC Level 2 Award in Health and Safety
This course will suit individuals and those who have a level of responsibility for themselves in the workplace and is in manageable chunks. Please note that for First Aid re-qualification there are previous knowledge requirements but for most courses there is no such requirement
