As the days grow shorter and the air turns colder, our bodies naturally ask for warmth, comfort and nourishment. This free, hands-on workshop with Nicola from You Can Cook explores how simple, seasonal food can support us through the cooler months, keeping us healthy, grounded and well fed.
Nicola will share her recipe for a vegetarian healing broth, a gentle, restorative base that’s easy to make at home and perfect for colder days. You’ll also learn to cook a warming turmeric dahl packed with root vegetables, a hearty, budget-friendly dish that’s full of flavour and goodness.
Together we’ll also make fire cider, a traditional seasonal tonic made with apple cider vinegar, horseradish and herbs. Fire cider has been used for generations as a warming kitchen remedy through autumn and winter, and it’s a lovely, simple practice to bring into your own home.
This workshop is for everyone, whatever your cooking experience. Come along to learn some new recipes, taste delicious food, and spend a relaxed couple of hours in good company.
