Lino printing is the process of transferring an image onto a block of Linoleum, carving out the negative spaces within the image and then making prints from the resulting block using ink.
An introduction to Lino Printmaking is a half-day course designed to give a basic outline of the medium to newcomers. The course will give students an outline of the materials used and how the process works, from creating an image, through transferring it onto Lino and then producing the prints themselves.
Students will be given some basic images to carve in order to show them the techniques used and will also be instructed in making their own suitable image with which to make prints. All materials will be provided and students will be instructed by local Printmaker Rhodri Mullaney. His work is available to view at Queen Street Gallery as well as on his instagram page.
Due to Health and Safety precautions we are limiting class sizes to 8 people, for all of our sessions, for the time being.
PPE (face shields, gloves and aprons) and hand sanitiser will be available for all of our workshops.
Tea and coffee making facilities will be available but you are also welcome to bring your own refreshments or pop to one of our local cafes or bakeries.
Queen Street Gallery supports, exhibits and promotes original and inspiring contemporary art and design by Welsh and British artists.
