Using the tried and tested IOSH Managing Safely training course as the basis of this training an alongside the broad range of H&S topics covered we include focus on workshop and engineering hazards and suitable controls to manage risk in workshops.
The course is four full training days and works in conjunction with our full range of training as all our hands-on courses include learner led risk assessments / risk management.
Great news! 63% of technicians and mechanics based on a survey of Plant Mechanic college attendees were found to be dyslexic learners. Our training is based around supporting dyslexic learners and those who have other learning differences.
Whether you have been diagnosed or not, we will help you to get the best result you can get. We do not use formal exams but use practical assessments throughout the process.
Just get in touch with us if you would like to talk about any specific support you may benefit from, we will do everything we can to support you.
We are based in the midlands and rather than travelling the day before we start courses at lunchtime (12.30). This allows our attendees to set off from home at normal worktime and attend training that day even if they are based 4 hours away from our centre.
Finish times are the same, so you arrive, have lunch, start training and on the last day of your attendance you can have lunch and still be home for a reasonable time.
For attendees that are local to us, they can still pop into work first before heading over.
Yes! For those doing the 12.30 starts theres a sandwich on arrival, hot evening meal and then a hot buffet breakfast the next day. If you are leaving that day you also get a packed lunch to take with you.
Hungry learners are bad news and rather than the usual terrible training buffet of limp sandwiches and luke warm items including salad that 97.6% of attendees can't stand, you will get asked what you would like to eat too… and we cater for all dietary requirements
Safety boots or shoes must be worn.
Normal workwear is also recommended as the majority of the course is hands-on.
If you use prescription glasses or lenses please ensure you have them available for the training.
