Motivating Medics is a not-for-profit organisation, targeting young people of lower socioeconomic backgrounds - with great emphasis in and around London, UK. Many of our youth aspire to study medicine but face drawbacks in their social and educational environments. Marginalisation, feeling under-inspired and a lack of good role models are just a few of the causative factors. The aim is to motivate, inspire and educate – helping them realise that with hard work, a career in medicine/surgery is not out of reach. Ultimately, pushing these pupils in the right direction in order to increase their confidence, maximise their performance, and help them reach their study goals. Through workshops, mentoring and school talks, the objective is to bridge the gap, and help widen access into medical school.

Our College was founded in 1855 by Dr John Propert for children of medical professionals who had fallen on hard times. His life’s work was guided by the principles of benevolence, excellence and the development of character and spirit. Over 160 years later, these same values inform everything we do.
