Foundations of Positive Behaviour Support: - explain the values and strategies of PBS, - discuss how PBS can be used to improve quality of life, - describe what is meant by the term 'behaviour of concern', 'challenging behaviour', 'behaviours that barrier quality of life', - describe causal factors associated with behaviour, - explain the 'functions' of behaviour - explore a range of assessment tools for assessing functions of behaviour, - outline the difference between 'proactive' and 'reactive' strategies, - list what should be in a PBS plan and how to implement it, - discuss strategies for situational management of crisis-level behaviours, - explain the importance of post-incident support for both young people and staff teams

1. Comprehend Positive Behaviour Support Fundamentals: Understand the key principles and concepts of Positive Behaviour Support and its relevance in working with children.
