This 3-day training course is meticulously crafted for professionals interested to deepen their understanding of the greenhouse gas (GHG) accounting principles set forth by the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard, and to analyze the three standard emissions scopes 1, 2, 3. The course will also address the process for quantifying total greenhouse gases emissions produced directly and indirectly by industries.
As methane is a potent greenhouse gas and main component in the gas production stream, the course will focus on the detection, measurement, and quantification of methane and how emissions are estimated through engineering calculations, emission factors and direct measurement technologies through fixed towers, aircrafts, drones, and satellites, classified as bottom-up and top-down approach.
Overview of the emissions reduction benefits by implementing a leak detection and repair (LDAR) program that will reduces product losses, increases worker and operator safety, decreases exposure to surrounding community, reduces emissions fines and helps facilities avoid enforcement actions. Furthermore, gain insight to work with external auditors, ensuring they will be prepared for the audit and confirming they have relevant, applicable, and accurate data.
Finally, participants will analyze the radical transparency in the oil and gas sector delivered by the Oil and Gas Methane Partnership OGMP 2.0, launched within the framework of the United Nations Climate and Clean Air Coalition, delving into the five levels of annual reporting on its methane emissions and discovering the global preference for OGMP 2.0 as the preeminent measurement, reporting and verification (MRV) framework.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
This course is designed for engineers, environmental specialist, accountants, finance, business sustainability and others who are involved in the GHG emissions reduction program or those who broadly engaged in environmental matters within a public or private company in the energy sector. This course will also greatly benefit the following groups but not limited to:
Your expert course leader is a consultant with extensive experience in the oil and gas sector across Latin America, the Middle East, and Asia. He has assessed technologies aimed at meeting net-zero-emission ambitions, such as greenhouse gas emissions measurement, gas flaring monetization, hydrogen production from oil and gas reservoirs, gas-to-liquid conversion, and carbon capture and storage. He has worked for major companies like Schlumberger, Weatherford, Petrobras/Perez Company, and has delivered complex, large-scale projects for clients like KOC, ENI, ADNOC, ExxonMobil, PETRONAS, and others.
To further optimise your learning experience from our courses, we also offer individualized “One to One” coaching support for 2 hours post training. We can help improve your competence in your chosen area of interest, based on your learning needs and available hours. This is a great opportunity to improve your capability and confidence in a particular area of expertise. It will be delivered over a secure video conference call by one of our senior trainers. They will work with you to create a tailor-made coaching program that will help you achieve your goals faster.
