This course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills required to safely install, inspect, and remove timber, steel, and proprietary shoring systems in excavations.
The course will cover the following topics:
The dangers and hazards associated with working in excavations
Different soil types and conditions
Suitable ground retention systems
Risk assessment
Safe installation, inspection, and removal of timber, steel, and proprietary shoring systems
Current legislation, policies, and procedures associated with safety in excavations
The course will be delivered by experienced trainers and will include a mix of theoretical and practical training.
Upon successful completion of the course, you will be awarded an EUSR Smart and Virtual card for Categories 3, 4 & 5. This card will be valid for 3 years.
The course is assessed through a combination of theory and practical tests. You must pass both tests to be awarded an EUSR card.

To be eligible to take the EUSR Deep Excavations Categories 3, 4 & 5 course, you must:
Be over the age of 18
Have a good understanding of English
Be physically fit and able to carry out the required tasks
