The IWFM Level 3 qualifications in workplace and facilities management are for you if you are a first-line manager or supervisor in workplace and facilities management or if you are new to the industry. They are designed to develop an understanding and knowledge of facilities management matters.
On successful completion of these qualifications, recognition by employers enables learners to progress into or within employment and/or continue their study in the vocational area.

The Level 3 Certificate in Facilities Management is designed to develop an understanding and knowledge of facilities management matters. It develops factual, procedural and theoretical knowledge and understanding to complete tasks that while well defined, may be complex and non-routine. It develops the ability to interpret and evaluate relevant information and ideas, and different perspectives or approaches.
This course offers opportunities for learners to develop skills that support career and professional development.
The course covers 4 mandatory units:
Introduction to Facilities Management
Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability in Facilities Management
Customer and Stakeholder Relations in Facilities Management
Specification and Procurement of Facilities Supplies and Services
followed by a choice of optional units chosen from those below to make up a total of 7 credits, thus offering a flexible approach to suit your chosen area:
Budget management of facilities management operations (4 credits)
Project Management in Facilities Management (5 credits)
Health and Safety Responsibilities in Facilities Management (5 credits)
Successful learners can progress onto the IWFM Level 4 courses, available at The Business School.
Facilities management professionals are responsible for services that support business. Their roles can cover management of a wide range of areas including: health and safety, risk management, business continuity, procurement, sustainability, space planning, energy, property and asset management. They are typically responsible for activities such as catering, cleaning, building maintenance, environmental services, security and reception.
