Terms and Conditions for Training Classes

Welcome to Talk of the Dog! Before embarking on the journey of our training sessions, please familiarize yourself with the following terms and conditions. By participating in our classes, you acknowledge and agree to adhere to these guidelines.

Course Minimum Requirement: Let's Learn Together! To create a vibrant learning environment and ensure everyone gets the most out of the course, we require a minimum of 3 participants for each session.

This doesn't mean you need to find the other participants – we'll handle that! We'll simply notify you if the course needs to be rescheduled due to insufficient enrollment.

Here's a breakdown of the process:

Notifications: If the course needs to be rescheduled, we'll let you know as soon as possible.
Refund Policy: If there are still not enough participants after 4 weeks of the originally scheduled start date, you'll receive a full refund.

Training and Handling Methods: At Talk of the Dog, we are committed to utilizing welfare-focused, ethical, and scientifically proven training techniques. We strictly prohibit the use of harsh handling, physical force, or punitive methods, as well as the use of equipment designed to be aversive.

Booking, Payments, and Cancellations: To reserve your spot in our classes, full payment, completion of a booking form, and acceptance of our terms and conditions are required. Cancellations made up to 1 week before the class start date will be eligible for refunds or alternative dates. In the event of unforeseen circumstances leading to class cancellation (e.g., adverse weather, illness, emergencies), we will make every effort to reschedule.

Training Classes: Classes will proceed as scheduled, and missed sessions cannot be extended. If you're unable to attend due to illness or COVID-19 symptoms, please notify us in advance. To ensure personalized attention, class sizes are limited. For owners with multiple dogs requiring training, please reach out to us to discuss accommodations.

Arrival Instructions: Our training sessions will be held at Ruby's Yard in Atherstone. There are a maximum of 6 parking spaces. If you can come on foot that be great. It is possible to park near Westwood Road Playground. Upon arrival, please keep your dog on a leash and refrain from allowing interactions with other dogs initially. As the course progresses, dogs may gradually familiarise themselves with each other. While brief greetings are allowed, it's your responsibility to manage these interactions and prevent any potential escalation.

Your Dog's Health: Owners/handlers are responsible for ensuring their dogs are vaccinated and protected against disease and parasites. While we strive to maintain a safe environment, please inform us if your dog has been in contact with contagious diseases or has special health needs. Additionally, your dog must be chipped.

Attendance and Conduct: Prompt arrival is appreciated to minimise disruptions. Dogs must be leashed with a properly fitted collar or harness and carry legal ID tags. Feeding or treating during classes should be limited to your own dog.

Aggression/Reactivity: If your dog has displayed aggression towards other dogs, people, or objects, it's crucial to disclose this information on the form. Contact us to assess if the class environment is suitable. Failure to report such behaviour may result in immediate removal from the class and you will not be eligible for a full refund.

General Guidelines: Dogs must remain leashed unless directed otherwise. Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs and disposing of waste, you can give the poo bags to me so I can dispose of the poo bags. We recommend appropriate attire for outdoor activities, including boots and outdoor clothing.

Banned Breeds: We welcome all breeds, including those traditionally classified as banned. However, additional documentation may be required for registration. Please contact us beforehand for further instructions.

Data Protection/Privacy Notice: Your information will be handled in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018. We may capture photos or videos during classes for marketing purposes; kindly inform us if you prefer not to be included.

Disclaimer: Owners/handlers are accountable for their dogs' behaviour at all times. Refunds will be issued only if we fail to meet the service levels outlined in our terms and conditions.

Complaints Procedure: If you have any concerns about our service, please contact us promptly. We are committed to addressing your feedback and may issue refunds if necessary.
