Support culture change by giving line managers the skills to look at practices within their areas, role model appropriately and address unacceptable behaviours. Our dynamic, assertive trainer for EDI has a very practical approach, with plenty of real-life examples to help participants view the subject from a new angle. A bespoke course might include:
Key legislation for EDI and the workplace
The consequences of getting EDI wrong
What you say or do and how it can be interpreted
Direct/indirect discrimination, harassment and victimisation
Conscious and unconscious bias
Being an ‘active bystander’.
Culture and EDI
Tackling unacceptable behaviour and difficult situations.
Practical strategies and action plans
We have a maximum of 12 participants on each course and normally no fewer than 4.
The sessions are interactive and learner-centred, so it's important to have enough people to create discussion and debate, but not so many that some people don't get involved.
No, our courses are *not* a video feed from an onsite classroom, or a one-way presentation where the delegates are an afterthought.
Live online with Sterling is ‘on-air’ training with a real trainer interacting with remote learners. It’s a highly interactive professional development experience where participants work in groups and pairs, can view trainer slides and video, use whiteboards, etc. We think you'll love it.
For most of our courses there is work that is expected to be completed between sessions, but this will all be designed to help you transfer your learning and new skills back to your job. It may be to complete a reflective learning journal to see how the session content has worked in your situation, or a specific task that will be covered in the next session.
If the course is shown as having a start and end date then these are fixed. You will be joining delegates from other organisations on our popular public courses.
If the course is listed as "on demand", then we can fit the dates around the client's needs.
No. Trainers may suggest additional reading but this is a personal choice.
Most of our courses are not examined, as we want you to develop your skills in a supported and learner-centred environment. Some courses, such as ILM qualifications, will involve writing assignments in order to pass.
The price includes the formal taught sessions (either live online or face-to face as described), copies of relevant materials and an end of course certificate. Participants also receive a notebook, pen and a mug with tea/coffee & sweets for break time refreshment, even if you are training with us online!
We record all of our live online sessions and upload them in a private format to YouTube so you can catch up with any missed sessions.
