This Indian Head Massage training course is very practical and no previous experience in massage is required. The course is an excellent introduction to a Swedish Massage training course. It is also a popular training course with therapists who wish to add to their skills. I have been teaching the course for over 20 years in the Edinburgh & Lothian area so a wealth of experience to pass onto you.
During the 2-day training course, I demonstrate the massage movements. After that, you will then get to practice on other students in the group. I break the learning down into small bite-size chunks before pulling it all together on the afternoon of the second day of training. I also focus on how to take care of yourselves and how important it is to do this, particularly from a posture perspective so that you don’t injure yourself.
You also receive the relaxing Indian Head Massage treatment from the other students in the group. A full treatment is massaging the head, neck, shoulders, back, upper arms and finish on the face with the client fully clothed and sitting on a chair.
In addition to attending the 2-day training, you will complete 10 case studies at home. You need to do at least two Indian head massage treatments on each client. After that, you will return approximately 8-10 weeks later to carry out a practical exam. This requires you doing an Indian Head massage treatment on a client without referring to any notes. By carrying out case studies and returning to do a practical exam, it builds up your confidence so that you can then feel confident in charging clients for your Indian Head Massage treatment.
The course has been accredited by the CMA (Complementary Medical Association). Upon successful completion, students receive a CMA (Complementary Medical Association) Certificate in Indian Head Massage.
Indian Head Massage treatments are popular at Staff Wellbeing days, Women groups, Charity events and also at pampering parties as there is no need to bring a therapy couch. It is a popular treatment as the client remains seated and clothed. It can also be shortened to 20- 30 minutes which I provide details off as well as the 1-hour treatment.
