This class is an advanced room-clearing class using the newest technology available. Students will learn room-clearing techniques specifically applicable to active shooter incidents and will practice clearing rooms from different angles with 1 person, 2 person and 4 person groups. The student will encounter various shoot/don't shoot potential threats and will first learn classroom movement, then graduate to movement in a street scene setting (including environmental factors such as fog, lighting variations) to engage digital targets that track fire from simulated Glock pistols and rifles with infrared designators. The student will then graduate to real-world situations, including force-on-force encounters utilizing simulations and live roll players, including high-stress shots-fired incidents. This class is only for those who have passed a basic pistol class.
Technology Utilized:
Fog
Lighting in a street scene
Firearms Simulator - 5 relatd video based scenerios
Police Lighting
CQB In a box - Digital Silhouettes that track accuracy and threat classification
Bang Box (creates realistic gunfire concussion)
Simulated Flashbang Use
Simunitions/UTM (Marking rounds)
You will engage in a basic firearms test to ensure that your firearms skills are sufficient to complete the course. The pre-requests are that you must be able to land 100% of rounds on a B27 target from 15 yards in a standing position. Then you will begin training for stress-induced situations, utilizing barricades and kneeling positions, shooting at photo-realistic targets under stress, determining if they are threats or non-threats. Advancing on targets, shooting from barricaded positions under stressful conditions.
You must be over 18 years of age and be in good overall physical condition, not suffer from PTSD, and not have any injuries that would prevent you from kneeling. You should not have a known heart condition.
Certified and former Maryland police officers who have attended SWAT school and have been deployed on tactical operations.
If you wish to bring your firearm for the live fire portion of the class, you can do so; otherwise, we will provide a Glock 19. If you are bringing your own firearm, then you must also provide 200 rounds of ammunition for it.
Anyone who does not have basic handgun skills, anyone with a previous conviction for a felony, or any person who has been charged and convicted of a misdemeanor in any state that carries a statutory penalty of 2 years or more.
You should be able to hit a B27 silhouette target with 100% of rounds at 15 years.
Range fees are included. You must provide 200 rounds of 9mm ammo (if using our firearms) or 200 rounds of whatever ammo is required for your firearm if you are bringing one. You must also provide 200 rounds of .223/.556 ammo. You can also provide your own rifle or use ours.
