Go West Sailing

I was doing RYA Coastal Skipper Course with Go West Sailing in Largs with Danny as Coach. Great experience with loads of fun, where I learned a lot of theory, tips and tricks plus practicing with Scottish tides & winds is the best sailing experience you can get. Nice team, very practical and professional.

I was with Captain Danny on the Jan Mayen expedition in the Arctic and it was a phenomenal and lifelong experience for me. Danny is a true leader and a seasoned sea wolf who doesn't spoil any fun. The ship Global Surveyor has become my second home, and I would very much like to take part in another expedition...

I've sailed with GWS many times, different places, but trips of my life were Greenland and Antartica. Both high latitudes sailing, but different. Greenland is absolutely amazing, must try experience. I sailed with my wife Karin on the Global Surveyor on a fantastic expedition to Antarctica. Drake Passage was a bit challenging but the spectacular mountains, huge icebergs, whales and penguins were well worth it. We enjoyed an interesting navigation in the poorly charted icy waters of the coast of the Antarctic Peninsula and the adjacent islands. We are still excited about this lifetime adventure and we felt very safe on Global Surveyor during the entire trip.
