The examination assesses a learner's knowledge and understanding of the requirements of BS 5839-6: Fire detection and fire alarm systems for domestic premises, including the design principles, grades, categories, system selection and installation requirements for domestic fire detection and fire alarm systems.

Successful learners will achieve the nationally recognised RQF Level 3 Award in the Requirements of Fire Detection & Fire Alarm Systems for Domestic Buildings (BS 5839-6).

Important Prerequisite

To be eligible to sit this RQF examination, learners must already have passed the RQF Level 3 Award in the Requirements of Fire Detection & Fire Alarm Systems for Non-Domestic Buildings (BS 5839-1).

Unfortunately, learners who have not achieved the BS 5839-1 qualification cannot sit this examination.

Evidence of the prerequisite qualification may be requested before the examination.

    You do not need to have completed your training with Ember Compliance. If you've completed suitable training with another provider or have gained the required knowledge and experience through your work, you may book the examination, provided you meet any published entry requirements or prerequisites.

  • What time should I arrive?

    We recommend arriving approximately 15 minutes before the course start time. This gives you plenty of time to register, enjoy refreshments and get settled before the training begins.

  • Are refreshments provided?
