Description

Reflexology is an extremely effective form of foot massage based on the principle that 'reflex points' on the hands and feet.

Illnesses, are indicated by tender areas on the appropriate reflex points on the feet, reflecting imbalance of the affected organ or organs.

By applying reflexology foot massage techniques to these points, the body can be prompted to maximise its own great capacity both to heal itself and to prevent illness.

All reflex points corresponds to each organ and structure in the body and are linked to those organs by energy channels, zones or meridians.

When illness or imbalance occurs in the body, the corresponding energy channels become blocked and Reflexology Massage is aimed to destroy these blocks, allowing the energy to flow freely again, so restoring the body's natural balance, and hence - good health.

Reflexologists regard the feet as a mirror of the body, with the right foot representing the right-hand side of the body and the left foot the left-hand side.

Aims and Objectives of the reflexology practitioner course

To perform a professional Reflexology therapy treatment to an occupational standard within an expected commercial time.

To know and understand the procedures and practical techniques required to perform a Reflexology therapy treatment to an occupational standard.

To know and understand what Reflexology is, the history, benefits, contraindications, the map of the foot, what to do and not to do.

Know and understand the human anatomy and physiology of the systems of the body.

Know and understand the consultation procedure, professionalism and ethics required for therapist and client.

Assessment

Continual assessment throughout the practical training days and overall course work of 5 months

The course is designed to allow the students flexibility of individual time frames to complete the course meeting their personal restrictions and commitments but will not exceed 12 months.

Practical assessment on course, monthly meet ups and final exam.

Knowledge and understanding assessed with small tests after each unit of which there is 6 units and in final written/ oral exam.

Practical skills assessed in final practical exam, questions and answers to assess knowledge and understanding.

Case study work assessed and checklist from client testimonials assessing practitioner skills.

Practical Work & Case Studies

If you spend a minimum of three hours on each lesson; this includes reading the lesson, answering the questions at the end of each lesson and practical work. You can study at your own pace and have no pressure of deadlines. The majority of this work is done in our 5 practical days of hands on learning and teaching on models and case studies, ensuring you receive all the practice, support and help you need to gain your confidence and work to a good commercial BH Holistic's standard.

Case study work will be included in our practical training days at BH Holistics.

I love teaching and helping others learn and bring joy into their work. I will work with each student personally and give the support needed to achieve this qualification in reflexology massage. I would like to work up to a 5 month time schedule to enable you the time to achieve completion of all your case studies, written work, and exam ( Its not a scary exam, I just need to ensure all my students have the knowledge and understanding of Reflexology to work professionally, and fill any gaps if there is any).

I am happy to allow you the time you require if you need less or more time.

I am the friendly supportive teacher on the other end of the phone when needed

Resources

Please bring a pen and anything to jot notes down on. Please bring any juice and food for lunch ( Penrith has a lot of food outlets for lunch nearby, if you want to pop out for lunch and have a break)

I will provide a training manual, talc and therapy room all set up ready.

Filtered water is available at all times and will provide some snacks to keep our energy up !

Qualification

You will gain an accredited certificate for reflexology massage practitioner with BH Holistics an approved executive training provider with International Practitioners of Holistic Medicine.
