A great day learning how to forge a knife, loved the history of how the skills were developed and i would love to do more. Great instruction from Spike who was willing to offer asistance all the way through the day .

Yet another brilliant day with Spike making the Japanese Petty Knife. The 3rd such course I have done, and intend on doing many more. So much fun, lots of information and you get the object you're creating afterwards.

Excellent way to spend a day!

Spike welcomed us to the Bearded Pig Forge, and from his convivial welcome the day that started on a high remained that way throughout. He had a huge knowledge of metallurgy through history and enjoyed his craft so much his interest was infectious. He had great patience with us all and we achieved and departed with our resultant Viking knives to be proud of. I enjoyed the whole experience I will have to consider the next one.

I would like to thank Spike for a great day and I've been taught something I'd never looked into before. Spoke is very knowledgeable. Hopefully one day I can return and I highly recommend doing this.

Spike is a skilled, passionate and patient teacher. I knew absolutely nothing and have no practical skills yet came away after learning so much with two beautiful knives. I Can’t recommend this course enough.

The 3 day knife course was fantastic! Spoke was great teacher as well as entertaining - never felt like. Never felt like was asking a silly question and more than happy to answer about anything and everything! Hope to do another course in the near future, was sad when this one ended!

Such a great experience! A very well taught and practical course. From start to finish, I thoroughly enjoyed the process, smithing a rectangle of steel into a fully working and good looking knife. I'm looking forward to booking another course, and would recommend it to anyone.

This was my 2nd course with Spike, and it was possibly better than the 1st. As always he is super informative, punctual and helpful, along with being approachable and fun. This course was a great introduction into knife making, not too hard but plenty to learn. I will definitely be making another booking with him again I'm the near future.

This course is a must for anyone interested in blacksmithing or anyone who just likes to learn something new. Spike is patient and knowledgeable which makes him a brilliant teacher. Highly recommended.
