Saturdays 13th July and 10th August 2024 - 13h00 to 16h00. This class is taught in two sessions of 3h00 (6h00 in total)
Goldwork has been taken to the next level with this contemporary design. This intricate rose contains fundamental goldwork techniques, but with intricate gold pearl purl to add depth. The shading brings highlight touches to the design and contrasts with the lighter background.
This project was inspired by the traditional english rose.
We will begin by introducing the gold pearl purl on the outlines. In the second stage, you will be learning how to stitch the purl chips.
In the second session, we will finish the purl chips including how to shade it in the leaves. You will be encouraged to ask the teacher some questions or to show you a glance of other goldwork techniques.
Homework in between both sessions is recommended to allow a smooth transition to class to finish the stitching of the pearl purl.
Therefore I would welcome any questions or comments in advance in order for me to prepare and demonstrate any techniques/answers at that time.
The aim of this goldwork class is at someone who has knowledge of embroidery (not necessary goldwork) but would like to improve their skills to get to the next level.
