This Beginners Hairdressing Course is ideal for those looking to be work-ready upon completion and have an internationally recognised qualification as well as a complete understanding of both Ladies Hairdressing & Barbering. You’ll receive both Ladies Hairdressing and Barbering training on this course and will be cutting hair on day 2! You’ll to learn the 9 Alan d Foundation haircuts, colouring and perming, roller-setting, clipper work, moustache trimming, wet shaving and much more.
This course includes VTCT online testing to complete the qualification.
The Alan d and VTCT Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing & Barbering is awarded on completion of the course.
This course can be taken at both our London and Ipswich Hairdressing Schools.

The Masterclass Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing and Barbering Course can be taken at both our London and Ipswich Hairdressing Schools.

Do I need any qualifications to apply for your Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing and Barbering Course?
No, you don’t need any specific qualifications to take this Beginners Course, but spoken English is essential.
Can I take this course part-time?
Yes, you can take our Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing and Barbering Course part-time, you must attend classes a minimum of 3 consecutive days per week.
Does this course teach practical Hairdressing?
Yes, this course is approximately 80% practical to get you work-ready. Expect to be cutting and styling hair on day 2, then moving on to roller-setting, long hair, colouring and perming. To finish off you’ll move onto barber training including scissor and clipper work, beard and moustache trimming and wet shaving.
Will this course allow me to work in a Salon or Barbershop after completion?
Yes, this course is aimed at those wanting to be work-ready once they’ve completed the course. You could work in a Salon or Barbershop as a new hairstylist.
Do you have more Advanced Hairdressing Courses?
Yes, for those who already have a Hairdressing qualification, we have Intermediate Hairdressing Courses to help you build your confidence on the Salon floor. For experienced stylists we have an Level 3 NVQ Diploma Hairdressing Course.
