BOHS P304 is designed to give practical guidance on assessing the health risks caused by hazardous substances, in order to meet the requirements of the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations 2002 for a 'suitable and sufficient' risk assessment.
The main subject areas of the course are:
Introduction to hazard and risk.
Legislation and guidance.
Fundamental principles of risk assessments.
Making a risk assessment.
Workplace controls.
How is the course assessed?
There is a multiple-choice examination at the end of the course, to test the candidate's learning and for which the training provider will invigilate. Upon successful completion, candidates receive a course completion certificate.
Online specifics
The tutor will send an invite to the delegate, via Microsoft Teams or Webex, 1 week before the course and BOHS will send an email to the delegate with exam access via the Eva exam system.
A webcam, microphone, study area free of distractions and a good internet bandwidth connection are required for online training.
Anyone who is responsible for managing health risks in a place of work.
This includes:
Occupational hygienists.
Health and safety practitioners.
Managers and other duty-holders under COSHH.
