Linette's work involves bridging the gap between technologies and humanity. Her previous experiences, from working at big companies such as IBM, to working in innovative startups and co-founding EduTech startup such Makeful, reflect her purpose. She is on a mission to reshape the STEAM education and make it inclusive for all. 
With 7 years of STEAM teaching experience, a well developed background in Textile Science and Engineering and extensive experience working with companies such as IBM, she decided to reshape STEAM education. As a winner of Dean’s Prize of Czech Technical University and creator of sound generative haptic suit,  Linette believes that education and technology are key to building a prosperous future for everyone.

A great opportunity to discuss the A-Level ESA (Externally Set Assignment) with fellow teachers and how best to approach the themes. We will be using breakout rooms for each board, so that you can network and discuss ideas and best practice.
The session will be lead by Becci Upton and Rachel Addy
This free event focuses on this year's Externally Set Assignment briefs for the A-LEVEL Fashion & Textiles courses. It is an opportunity for you to not just to learn from others, but also to contribute to a really collaborative environment, where everyone is able to take something helpful back to their respective students and schools. 
We are not specialists in each of the different exam boards and we recommend that you refer to your own board's latest official guidance for the most accurate and up-to-date information. To maximise our time together, we will be organising four breakout rooms, for AQA, Edexcel, OCR and Eduqas. You need to have your ESA briefs accessible, to have already read this and perhaps some ideas ready to contribute to the groups collective mind mapping.
This is a precious time for everyone to share experiences and gather inspiration.

Coping with stress and uncertainty

Unfortunately stress seems to be a built-in feature of modern life. We are all trying to fit in too much with less time all the while societal and political challenges negatively impact us. Changing the system would be the long term solution…

But in the shorter term we can learn to cope with stress and uncertainty in a way that's healthier for our body and mind. This session will walk you through some simple but effective tools to better cope with the stresses of life.

Many people struggle to set boundaries because of a niggling fear that they will be letting people down, upsetting authority or come across as difficult. But healthy boundaries are essential to look after our wellbeing and therefore our effectiveness at work.

Learning to crochet in the round is essential for all sorts of crochet projects - amigurumi, softies, hats, bags, granny squares . . . I won't pretend it's easy, but it's not as tricky as you might think! 
The 3 bears will be a fun introduction to the principles of crocheting continuously in the round. We'll look at magic rings, even increasing and the single crochet stitch (US terms). We'll also have a little go at other ways to crochet in the round, try some join-as-you-go and creating fancy edging using the single crochet stitch in reverse (crab stitch). 
Depending on your ability you can join me for Week 1 then finish off in your own time, or you can come back for seconds and we can finish off together the following week.

Learning to crochet in the round is essential for all sorts of crochet projects - amigurumi, softies, hats, bags, granny squares . . . I won't pretend it's easy, but it's not as tricky as you might think! 
The 3 bears will be a fun introduction to the principles of crocheting continuously in the round. We'll look at magic rings, even increasing and the single crochet stitch (US terms). We'll also have a little go at other ways to crochet in the round, try some join-as-you-go and creating fancy edging using the single crochet stitch in reverse (crab stitch). 
Depending on your ability you can join me for Week 1 then finish off in your own time, or you can come back for seconds and we can finish off together the following week.

This 2 day course provides expert guidance on EV charging equipment installation, an important emerging area which is not covered in detail by the current edition of the Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) or the IET’s Guidance Notes. Aimed at experienced electricians interested in understanding a wide range of equipment and systems available, this course applies to the specialised installation requirements of electric vehicle charging equipment in domestic dwellings, on-street locations, commercial and industrial premises. The course provides detailed guidance and recommendations on all aspects of the installation of Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment from the origin of the electrical supply, through distribution and final circuits, installation of the charging equipment itself to the cable between the charging equipment and vehicle’s electrical inlet. Also included are related issues of site layout and planning and subsequent inspection, testing, certification and maintenance of installations. Why take this course? Currently there is an increasing demand for new electric vehicle charging points but too few installers to roll them out. This is already a booming market which is due to get much bigger in the near future. The number of public charging connectors and locations has increased by 38% in the past 12 months and is expected to continue at that rate for years to come. Entry Requirements There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification, however we do expect you to meet the following requirements: Minimum age 18 years old (mandatory) Must be able to demonstrate the following competencies Be able to correctly install and terminate: pvc/pvc cable (twin and earth) Steel Wire armoured cable (swa) Be able to carry out an initial verification (inspection &amp; testing) on an electrical installation and complete the necessary paperwork. Please Note: These competencies are required for the assessment and are not taught as part of the course. It is also recommended that you are up to date with your wiring regulations.

Quarterly meetings at the Academy

The Academy provides a list of Private and NHS Dental Surgeries, who are regularly contacting us when looking for more Trainee Dental Nurses, so you can contact them directly as a registered student at the Academy. This is a paid job, unless you would like to work voluntary for personal reasons. We also provide a reference letter to the employee in case you need it.

The curriculum is based on the GDC (General Dental Council) registration requirements for dental nurses. These are set out in terms of professional competencies, with the assessment method clearly outlined (e.g. how the skills and knowledge will be assessed in the final examinations – via written questions such as multiple choice (MCQ) or extended matching questions (EMQ) or via Objective Structured Clinical Examinations – OSCEs). When are the exams?
There are two exams:
1. Multiple choice theory exam. November and March.
2. Practical exam. January and June. 
Record of Experience (eROE)
To be eligible to sit your first exam, you have to complete your electronic Record of Experience (eROE). The eROE has to be submitted to your tutor by 31st Jan for March exam, and 31st August for November exam.
