Children Learn For Free!  It’s Family Fresh Pasta Time at Station House! And you have the chance to learn how to make and roll your own fresh pasta and then combine with a delicious sauce of your choice. And then best thing is, you can bring your favourite child for free! Simply book yourself a place and we'll give you a free children's place, too! After you've both cooked up a storm, sit down together and enjoy what you've made. If you, or your child, have any allergies or dietary requirements please call us in advance to check if the menu is appropriate. We will always try to cater for dietary requirements where we can. Craft workshop where you have a go at simple glass cutting before layering your chosen colours up with textural details to produce your own Big Bold Hanging. Fused Glass Workshop – Big Bold Hangings I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This in person fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop For this workshop I’ll give you a base piece of clear glass (precut and with a hole drilled (approx 30x5cm) for you to decorate with stripes of your favourite colours. I prepare lots of transparent glass to give you lots of strips to cut to length yourself. Build a design and layer as you like with extra textural details to really personalise your make. This is a great introduction to glass cutting, anyone can do it with the tips and tricks I’ll show you. The main thing to remember is to have fun! You will play with different types of decorative glass elements and learn a little about how the kiln firing will change them. Simply complete your design during the session and leave it at the studio for me to fire, clean and finish with a lovely ribbon, ready for you to display and enjoy. We will arrange for you to collect your piece after a few weeks or I can post your finished piece at cost. I will talk through all the Health & Safety in the session but I want you to know now, you will be handling precut glass pieces, they have pointy ends but with the right handling, they won’t hurt you. The Care Certificate is a one-day, instructor led course in a fully equipped training room. We use a mixture of training methods such as hands on activities, group discussion, games and the use of equipment / technology to cover the different learning styles of the individual. Learners will develop their knowledge, skills and understanding around the 15 care standards. Each of the 15 standards have specific learning outcomes and assessment criteria. The Care Certificate provides care staff with the fundamental skills to provide a quality, safe and effective service. The course covers manual handling of people and objects which is a full day course using equipment. Fused Glass Workshop – Set of Trinket Dishes I want to share my 15+ years of experience with you. This fused glass workshop is held at my Derbyshire studio and gallery space in the middle of Wirksworth near Matlock. About this fused glass workshop Create a set of 3 mini dishes, a perfect size for a tealight candle or to store your earrings and rings. Make for yourself of to give as gifts. Explore two different design/construction processes and use precut tiles, rods and frit balls to create your designs. Can’t make the workshop? Still want to make your own fused glass dishes, check out my simplified (but still sparkly) make at home kit. Explore a little in this short fused glass taster workshop and learn a little about how the kiln firing to 800 degrees c changes the raw/pointy pieces of glass to a have smooth, shiny finish. Simply complete your designs during the session and leave them with me at the studio for me to fire twice, once flat and once into the bowl mould. We will make arrangements to pick up a few weeks later or I can post your finished piece at cost. The Care Certificate Refresher does not cover manual handling of people and objects. This is a stand-alone course, which can be booked separately. Care providers are regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and as a result must meet the Health and Social Care Act 2014 (Regulation 18 Staffing). Evidence of training and understanding is provided to support providers in their evidence of compliance. Instructions Attendees to arrive on time at 9.30am and will leave around 16.30pm It is important that learners are fit and well to participate in group activities. The medication and record keeping course is a full day, instructor led course in a fully equipped training room. We use a mixture of training methods such as scenarios, activities, group discussion, games and the use of equipment / technology to cover the different learning styles of the individual. Learners will develop their knowledge, skills and understanding around the administering of medication and the importance of record keeping.
