This course is suitable for anyone looking to become an accredited tutor or trainer. You may be new to the teaching or training sector; thinking of a career in training and development, or already training / tutoring and would like to become accredited. The course is delivered over 5 half day workshops which develop your knowledge and skills of training techniques. There is some home study, a tutoring session and a 20 minute micro-teach. The total duration of the course is approximately 8 weeks. Through attending this course, you will be able to: Plan, design and deliver a training session using appropriate methods Engage learners using a range of techniques and manage a learning environment Monitor, assess and evaluate training Reflect on own practice and identify areas for development Further Information You will be set self study to complete after each session. This should not take more than 1-2 hours per week. We are on hand to answer any questions you may have throughout your course. You will prepare a microteach session on a topic of your choice, you will have a mentoring session with your tutor to prepare you for this. It challenges the participants to examine their behaviours and take close looks at some of the views they have held since a very young age, e.g. this area is a “bad” area, because it has a high proportion of black/brown people living in it, or that young black men in tracksuits are “thugs”. We think about where these messages come from and how people are indoctrinated by the media. Roots of Empathy (ROE) is dedicated to building caring and peaceful societies through the development of empathy in children. It is a parenting education programme for elementary school students (between the ages of 3 to 14 years) based on monthly visits to the classroom by a parent and infant from the school neighbourhood. Reading, Language Intervention for children with Down syndrome The RLI programme detailed in a teacher’s handbook and DVD developed and produced by Down Syndrome Education International, provides a systematic structured approach via daily activities that can be finely adapted to each child. The training days will cover the theory behind the programme, how to assess a child to find a starting point, how to monitor and record progress and how to deliver the daily intervention with examples from, and reference to, the teacher’s handbook and DVD (now a digital resource).

After successful stints in their New York & Washington D.C salons he rose to Assistant Creative Director. On the back of a decorated career in Sassoon salons, Sid graduated to their academies as an educator teaching both hairdressing & barbering. Sid’s first stop was the Santa Monica Academy also working for television and teaching at international shows as far afield as China After parting ways with Sassoon, Sid pursued an exciting freelance career guesting & teaching in exclusive salons & barbershops. He was also, proudly a member of the hair team, working on the 2005 blockbuster Pride & Prejudice.
