A pioneering provider of independent mentoring services  For adults who are training to be teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs), our mission is to support and empower aspiring educators as they navigate their journey towards becoming skilled and confident professionals in the teaching profession. As a mentorship program tailored specifically for adults pursuing a teaching career, we understand the unique challenges and expectations placed upon trainees in the profession. We are committed to providing comprehensive and personalised support to help trainees meet the teaching standards set by the Department for Education in England. We provide guidance and practical assistance to trainees in areas such as lesson planning, classroom management, assessment strategies, and creating inclusive learning environments. Our aim is to help trainees develop a deep understanding of the curriculum, pedagogical approaches, and effective teaching techniques. Planning Planning is a crucial aspect of a teacher's role, and we offer specialised support to trainees in this area. Our mentors work closely with trainees to develop effective lesson plans that align with curriculum requirements and engage students in meaningful learning experiences. We provide guidance on designing differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment. Confidence Confidence is essential for success in the teaching profession, and we are dedicated to helping trainees build their self-assurance. Our mentors provide individualised coaching and feedback, helping trainees develop their teaching skills, classroom presence, communication abilities, and interpersonal skills with other staff. We create a safe and supportive environment where trainees can explore their strengths, identify areas for growth, and gain the confidence needed to deliver impactful lessons and engage with students and the wider school community effectively. That’s why we believe Carbon Literacy training is so important – and why we need a multitude of trainers to deliver it. The Lighthouse Carbon Literacy - Train the Trainer course is designed to prepare you for delivering Carbon Literacy training, and support you on your journey to becoming a Carbon Literacy Trainer (CLT). Train the Trainer is normally delivered online to cohorts of up to 6 learners. Course timetable:  Tuesday 12 March: 9 - 12:30 Friday 15 March: 9 - 12:30 Friday 22 March: 9 - 12:30 Learners can arrive from 8:45am onwards. What we provide: Three half days of interactive workshops Facilitated peer learning amongst a small group Guided self-study and resources Guidance to inform your road to becoming a certified Trainer Skills for creating your own Carbon Literacy course A practical and hands-on approach to Carbon Literacy training 1:1 follow up coaching session Private LinkedIn Group. What you commit to: Attend and engage in training workshops Complete all self-study and homework Complete and submit Trainer evidence to the Carbon Literacy Project. Course requirements: The Lighthouse Train the Trainer course is designed to develop confidence, understanding and training skills in learners who already have a level of understanding of carbon and some experience of delivering training. Before commencing this course, learners should: Have experience of delivering training Have completed a Carbon Literacy training course Have worked with business in some capacity Aspire to deliver Carbon Literacy training either internally within the business they work in, or externally to other businesses. Why Lighthouse? Lighthouse has a proven track record of working with businesses to deliver sustainability improvements, from building circularity into business models to reducing carbon impacts. Last year we trained more than 700 employees from companies including Beko plc; Silent Night; Boston Scientific and PZ Cussons. Our one-day sanding and flatting course for automotive paintwork is for experienced detailers looking to add to their portfolio with the ultimate refinement and correction technique to improve results, and productivity, and add a valuable and marketable service to their business. Sanding is a skill which can be used to perfect and rectify the harshest repairable damage and imperfect paintwork. Using a range of tools from electric and pneumatic sanders to specialist tools and compounds, you will work through the day to perfect a series of ever more challenging panels under the watchful eye of our instructors who are there to guide and demonstrate every step. wet sanding is a critically difficult skill which can bring high-yield finishes to a detailing portfolio and turn around the most challenging and rewarding of projects. Course fees cover all materials and lunch, with the day starting at 9.30 and running to around 4.30 pm. You also have the option to pre-purchase the Machine add-on pack - a Flex ORE 3-150 - at a fantastic low price in advance, for collection on the day. Because of the high demand and complexity of the skill, all attendees will need a working knowledge of machine polishers - both rotary and DA - and confidence in heavy correction to benefit from this course as it assumes a high level of competency prior to taking on the most challenging work in a detailers arsenal.
